How to Create a Pandora Magic Stick + Battery
To start you need few things:
- PSP already homebrew enabled (hacked),
- a memory stick larger then 128mb
- a PSP battery (notice: do not use a slim battery or the battery will crack)
- and of course the PSP Fat or Slim you want to “pandorize”.
- and you need to download the Pandora Universal Downgrader
Create a Pandora Magic Stick!
- Unrar the Pandora Universal Downgrader and run the autorun.exe, the aplication is quite simple and basicaly is just click and go, just follow the on screen instructions.
Click step 1 - Connect your PSP with the memory stick you want to modify in it, via USB, on the XMB menu select USB connection, and then select the psp drive from the pop up menu that appears in your PC screen;
Click step 2 - In this fase the PSP will be logically formated, a cmd window will appear, press “Y” to continue;
Click step 3 - The PSP Memory Stick will now be modified, press “Y” in the cmd window to continue, the process is quite fast, just wait a moment; after it is finish, reboot your PSP;
Click step 4 - activate the USB connection again (it was disabled when you rebooted), the files necessary to create the Pandora Magic Stick will be created.
Create a Pandora Battery!
With the Pandora Magic Stick we just created in the PSP, turn the PSP on and go to Games/Memory Stick, and you should see a application named Pandora Battery Creator.
In the Program screen press “triangle” to backup your psp battery, the program will then close;
Open it again and press “X” to start the Pandora Battery process.
Unlocking your PSP!
With the Magic Stick created and the Pandora Battery we can now start to “hack” our PSP.
- Insert the Pandora Stick in the PSP you want to hack;
- Now insert the Pandora Battery, the PSP will automatically boot, and a menu will appear;
- Hit “X” to install the 3.71m33 firmware, a bunch of text will start scrolling down, don’t worry this is normal, after it finishes, it will say “Installation Complete, Press X”, so press “X”.
The PSP will now shut off, turn it back on and a blue screen will appear, hit “O” and wait, the PSP will then restart.
Now take the Pandora Battery out and connect the PSP to the wall charger, now wold the “R Trigger” while turning the PSP back on.
A menu will Pop Up, this is the Recovery Menu of the Custom Firmware, Go to Advance and select “Flash 1 and reset all settings”. When done the PSP will turn off, or tell you to press “X”, if so do it.
The PSP is now Hacked, Congrats
But we are not done yet, still need to turn the Pandora Battery Back to normal.
Reversing the Pandora Battery
- Insert the Pandora Stick back to the PSP in the beginning of the tutorial, the one you used to create the Pandora Stick and Battery.
- Plug the PSP to the Wall charger (without the battery in the PSP), and turn it on, once booted in the menu, insert the Pandora Battery back in.
- Go to the same application you used to create the Pandora Battery, in the Game/Memory Stick menu, run it, and this time select “Return Battery Back to Normal”, if i am not mistaken it is the “Square” button.
